Emel Çiftçi
Die Musikerin Emel Çiftçi ist verhaftet worden. Die Kurdin leidet an Gebärmutterhalskrebs im fortgeschrittenen Stadium und müsste sich eigentlich einer Operation unterziehen – für die türkische Justiz kein Hinderungsgrund, sie ins Gefängnis zu stecken.
Die unter „Terror“-Verdacht stehende Musikerin Emel Çiftçi ist seit Montagabend in Untersuchungshaft in Amed (tr. Diyarbakır). Der Haftbefehl war früher am Tag durch eine Einheit des Dezernats für Terrorbekämpfung der türkischen Polizei vollstreckt worden. In einer mehrstündigen Anhörung bestätigte ein Gericht in Ankara, an das Çiftçi über ein Videokonferenzsystem eingebunden wurde, den Haftbefehl. Es habe Verdunklungs- und auch Fluchtgefahr sowie eine mögliche Beweisvereitelung festgestellt, da das erwartete Strafmaß „sehr hoch“ sei, hieß es nach Angaben des Gerichts. Çiftçi wurde in das Frauengefängnis Diyarbakır überstellt.

Emel Çiftçi ist langjähriges Mitglied des in der westtürkischen Metropole Istanbul ansässigen Kulturzentrums Mesopotamien (Navenda Çanda Mezopotamya, NÇM) und arbeitet bei „Zarok Ma“, der weltweit ersten kurdischen Musikschule für Kinder, die 2021 in Amed eröffnet wurde. Sie ist zudem festes Ensemblemitglied der Gruppe Koma Ma. Die Oberstaatsanwaltschaft Ankara, die das Ermittlungsverfahren führt, wirft Çiftçi die Mitgliedschaft in und Leitung einer „Terrororganisation“ – gemeint ist die Arbeiterpartei Kurdistans (PKK) – vor. Die Künstlerin weist die Anschuldigungen zurück.

Quelle der gegen Çiftçi erhobenen Vorwürfe sollen unter anderem eine Auswertung ihrer Handydaten-Ortung und Aussagen eines angeblichen Zeugen sein, den die Staatsanwaltschaft nach Angaben des Rechtsbeistands der Kurdin namentlich nicht nennen will. Auch werde gegen Çiftçi ein Bericht der im Finanzministerium angesiedelten Ermittlungsbehörde für Finanzkriminalität (MASAK) herangezogen, in dem von häufigen Hotelaufenthalten der Künstlerin in verschiedenen Städten und auffälligen Zahlungseingängen auf ihrem Bankkonto die Rede sei. Dazu habe sie dem Gericht erklärt, dass sie als Bandmitglied von Koma Ma bezahlte Konzerte gebe und hin und wieder auch Auswärts-Termine mit Übernachtung absolviere. Die Angaben des vermeintlichen Zeugen wies sie als „erfunden“ zurück.

Çiftçis Verteidigung sprach von einer unglaublichen und völlig grundlosen Diffamierung der Künstlerin. Sie sei offenbar nur wegen ihres Wirkens für den Erhalt und die Pflege der kurdischen Kultur und Sprache in den Fokus der Justiz geraten und mit dem „Terror“-Etikett versehen worden. Heftig kritisierten die Jurist:innen auch die Art und Weise der Festnahme, die in einem Krankenhaus im Bezirk Rezik (Bağlar) erfolgt war. Çiftçi leidet an Gebärmutterhalskrebs im fortgeschrittenen Stadium und muss sich einer Operation unterziehen. Trotz entsprechenden Arztberichten lehnte das Gericht einen Antrag auf Aussetzung der Vollziehung des Haftbefehls ab. Çiftçis Anwält:innen haben bereits Haftbeschwerde eingelegt.[1]
