Die jesidische Aktivistin #Nadia Murad# und der kongolesische Arzt Dennis Mukwege werden geehrt für ihren Kampf gegen sexuelle Kriegsgewalt. Das ist kein Zufall. Im MeToo-Jahr 2018, in dem Frauen in aller Welt gegen sexuelle Übergriffe aufbegehren, wollte offenbar auch die norwegische Jury ein Zeichen setzen.

Am Ende ihrer Verkündung sagte Jurymitglied Berit Reiss-Andersen noch einmal ganz deutlich, worum es geht: „Eine friedlichere Welt ist nur möglich, wenn Frauen und ihre fundamentalen Rechte und ihre Sicherheit anerkannt und geschützt werden.“ Soweit die Botschaft aus Oslo an die Trumps und Erdogans, an die Machos und Islamisten der Welt.

Die Frau und der Mann, die das Nobelpreiskomitee aus 216 Personen und 115 Organisationen ausgewählt hat, kämpfen beide auf ihre Weise gegen sexuelle Gewalt als Kriegswaffe. Der kongolesische Gynäkologe Dennis Mukwege gründete 2008 seine Panzi-Klinik, in der er bis heute Tausende Frauen behandelt hat, die nach Vergewaltigungen schwer verletzt und sozial ausgestoßen ihren Weg ins ostkongolesische Bukavu fanden.

Aber Mukwege kämpft nicht nur vor Ort, sondern auch international: „Er hat immer wieder die Straflosigkeit der Täter angeprangert und die kongolesische Regierung und andere Länder dafür kritisiert, dass sie nicht genügend gegen sexuelle Kriegsgewalt gegen Frauen vorgehen“, erklärt die Nobelpreis-Jury.

EINE EHRUNG FÜR DEN KAMPF GEGEN SEXUELLE KRIEGSGEWALT
Nadia Murad wurde im August 2014 vom IS entführt und in ihrer Gefangenschaft vielfach vergewaltigt. Nach ihrer Flucht erzählte sie unermüdlich ihre Geschichte, um die Welt darauf aufmerksam zu machen, dass immer noch Tausende Mädchen und Frauen dasselbe erlitten wie sie. „Nadia Murad hat ungewöhnlichen Mut gezeigt“, erklärt das Nobelpreis-Komitee. „Sie weigerte sich, die soziale Regel zu akzeptieren, dass Frauen über den erlittenen Missbrauch schweigen und sich dafür schämen sollten.“ Heute ist Murad die erste UN-Botschafterin für die Würde der Opfer von Menschenhandel.

Es dürfte kein Zufall sein, dass die norwegische Jury ausgerechnet in diesem Jahr zwei KämpferInnen gegen Männergewalt gegen Frauen ehrt. Es ist das Jahr, in dem Frauen nicht nur in den USA, sondern in aller Welt das Ausmaß sexueller Gewalt öffentlich gemacht und deutlich gemacht haben, dass Männer kein selbstverständliches Recht auf Frauenkörper haben. Das Friedensnobelpreis-Komitee hat deutlich gemacht, dass es das genauso sieht.[1]
