Frauen protest
Der Staatsrat in Ankara hat die Klage gegen den Austritt der Türkei aus der Istanbul-Konvention zum Schutz von Frauen vor Gewalt zurückgewiesen. In Istanbul protestierten Frauen gegen das politisch motivierte Urteil.

Der Staatsrat (tr. Danıştay) in Ankara hat am Dienstag die Klage gegen den Austritt aus der Istanbul-Konvention zum Schutz von Frauen vor Gewalt zurückgewiesen. Die Annullierung der Konvention war im März 2021 per Präsidialdekret von Tayyip Erdogan beschlossen worden, geklagt hatten Frauenorganisationen, politische Parteien und zivilgesellschaftliche Organisationen. Laut Urteil des Staatsrats ist der Austritt verfassungskonform. Das Verfahren wird jetzt in der nächsthöheren Instanz verhandelt. Als letzter Schritt in der Türkei ist eine Klage vor dem Verfassungsgericht möglich. Wenn das türkische Justizsystem ausgeschöpft ist, kann auch vor dem Europäischen Gerichtshof für Menschenrechte geklagt werden.

In der Türkei ist die Empörung über das Urteil des Staatsrats groß. Im Istanbuler Stadtbezirk Kadiköy protestierten kurz nach Urteilsverkündung der Frauenverein „Wir werden Frauenmorde stoppen“ und die Frauenräte. „Wir erkennen das rechtlose Urteil nicht an und geben die Istanbul-Konvention nicht auf“ stand auf einem Transparent, das die Aktivistinnen auf dem Fähranleger in Kadiköy ausrollten.

Die Generalsekretärin des Frauenvereins, Fidan Ataselim, erklärte auf der Kundgebung, dass das Urteil Frauen dazu zwinge, ihren Widerstand fortzusetzen: „Wir hätten uns gewünscht, dass es nicht so wäre und der Staatsrat ein rechtskonformes Urteil fällt, in dem festgestellt wird, dass der Staatspräsident nicht über der Verfassung steht. Wir haben uns die Feststellung gewünscht, dass eine Einzelperson, ein einziger Mann, nicht alles tun kann, was ihm gefällt. Das ist nicht geschehen, denn es wurde eine politische Entscheidung getroffen.“ Ataselim wies jedoch darauf hin, dass das Urteil nicht einstimmig ergangen sei und schon allein das die Fragwürdigkeit der Entscheidung zeige.

Für Hoffnungslosigkeit gebe es keinen Anlass, fuhr Ataselim fort: „Wir werden mit unserer eigenen Kraft und unserem gleichen und freien Kampf, der zunehmend gesellschaftlicher wird, gewinnen.“[1]
