In der Türkei ist ein weiterer schwer kranker Gefangener ums Leben gekommen. Ibrahim Yildirim hat nach Angaben der Anstaltsleitung im Hochsicherheitsgefängnis Elazığ einen Herzinfarkt erlitten. Er wäre in zehn Tagen aus der Haft entlassen worden.
Der politische Gefangene Ibrahim Yildirim ist zehn Tage vor seiner Entlassung im Hochsicherheitsgefängnis Elazığ (ku. Xarpêt) verstorben. Das wurde seinen Angehörigen telefonisch von der Vollzugsleitung mitgeteilt. Nach Angaben der Anstaltsleitung soll der 68-Jährige am Samstagabend einen Herzinfarkt erlitten haben und gestürzt sein. Mit einem Obduktionsbericht wird für Montag gerechnet.
Ibrahim Yildirim war schwer krank und hatte eine anerkannte Schwerbehinderung von 96 Prozent. Er litt unter einem Hirntumor und hatte bei einer Operation ein Auge verloren, auf dem anderen Auge hatte er eine Sehkraft von 49 Prozent. Trotz ärztlicher Atteste wurde seit fünf Jahren keine Haftverschonung gewährt. Seine Frau Asli Yildirim war in ständiger Sorge um ihn und hatte bereits früher gegenüber ANF erklärt, dass sie Angst habe, er könne aufgrund seiner verminderten Sehfähigkeit stürzen. „Ich bin in Gedanken immer im Gefängnis, ich habe Angst. Mein Mann kann im Gefängnis nicht überleben. Ich will nicht, dass er stirbt“, so Asli Yildirim.
Ibrahim Yildirim ist 2011 im Rahmen der „KCK-Operation“ wegen Mitgliedschaft in einer terroristischen Vereinigung verurteilt worden. Seine Entlassung aus der Haft war für den 25. August vorgesehen.
KCK-Operation: Schlag gegen legale kurdische Politik
Die „KCK-Operation“ genannte Verhaftungswelle begann nur einen Tag, nachdem die KCK (Gemeinschaft der Gesellschaften Kurdistans) am 13. April 2009 ihre Waffenruhe bis zum 1. Juli verlängert und in einer Deklaration davon gesprochen hatte, dass „zum ersten Mal die Möglichkeit besteht, die kurdische Frage in einem Umfeld der Waffenruhe zu lösen“. Zwei Wochen zuvor hatten in der Türkei Kommunalwahlen stattgefunden, die pro-kurdische Partei DTP konnte die Zahl ihrer Bürgermeisterinnen und Bürgermeister beinahe verdoppeln. Noch im selben Jahr wurde die DTP wegen Terrorvorwürfen durch Entscheid des Verfassungsgerichts verboten.
Die KCK-Operation, die mit der Verhaftung von kurdischen Politiker:innen und Vertreter:innen von NGOs begann, ergriff wellenförmig alle Bereiche des gesellschaftlichen Lebens und betraf auch Bürgermeister:innen, Gewerkschafter:innen, Journalist:innen, Verteidiger:innen der Menschenrechte und Rechtsanwält:innen. Am Ende der Operation im Jahre 2011 waren etwa 10.000 Menschen unter dem Verdacht der Mitgliedschaft in der KCK verhaftet worden.[1]
