$Biography$
Salah Najmadin was born on 07-08-1960 in the city of Erbil, capital of Kurdistan Region. Salah Najmadin is an experienced Kurdish artist with a unique voice and music.
Although he is now less known by the new generation, he was one of the early influences on the youth of his time because he worked in a Western style and paid attention to jazz music.
His first artistic career dates back to the year 1971. His first song recorded on Baghdad radio and television in the year 1972 was Tanka, which was then a 36mm film.
In the year 1978, he founded the western band Shilan with Rizgar Khoshnaw. He made his first cassette with the band until 1980, when he left the band. In 1981, he founded the band Azhin.
He told Nuchenet about his latest work:
My last work was my last cassette. I renewed my old songs and put new songs with them. In the year 2009, the band disappeared and I rebuilt it in Kurdistan. I educated my people and sons and re-recorded the tape as a competition. I will not let that style die, among the Kurds, jazz and blues. I have some other jobs, but the situation in Kurdistan is still bad. People don't have time to earn a living and let alone listen to music. So if things get better, I might start again. I won't let that style die because my sons have replaced me now.[1]
