Raushan Khan was born in 1909, she is the daughter of Salih Badr Khan, the paternal grandfather of Badirkhan's brother, the Great Emir of Bohtan.
Therefore, in order to marry the Jaladat Ali Badr Khan, she used the surname Badirkhan. When the Ottoman Turks expelled the Badirkhans from Turkey, his father was forced to move to Damascus with his family. His daughter Rawshan studied in Damascus schools, graduated from the Teachers' Institute, and became a teacher. She married Jaladat Ali Badirkhan in 1935. They lived happily together for sixteen years until Jaladat passed away in 1951.
In 1957, she represented the all of Kurdistan in the conference held in Greece against Imperialism. Although six seats were allocated to Kurdish representatives, she was the only person who could participate in the meetings of the congress and spoke strongly against imperialism and the partition of Kurdistan and demanded the rights of the Kurdish nation. Although she was attacked actively by the Turkish and Arabic representatives in the conference, she bravely spoke out her thoughts.
Miss Rawshan Badirkhan passed away on #01-06-1992#.
In addition to his native language of Kurdish, Rawshan Badirkhan could also fluently speak the Arabic and Turkish languages, with moderate knowledge of the French, English, and German languages.
She also wrote and published a few works in Arabic, which are listed bellow:
1. Pages from Kurdish Literature (صفات من الادب الکردی) published in 1954 in Beirut.
2. (غرامی و الامی) A book translated from Turkish to Arabic published in 1957 in Damascus.
3. Diaries of a Woman (مذکرات امراة) published in Damascus.[2]
