Exploring the history of migration in this country is essential to understanding Britain and British society today, and it will be central to building a truly open and diverse future. It is an honour to work with the Migration Museum, which is playing a leading role in this endeavour.
Cllr #Ibrahim Dogus# is currently serving as Mayor of Lambeth and has served as a Labour Councillor in Vauxhall since May 2018. As well as campaigning for the Labour Party in Lambeth and previously in Hackney, Enfield, Islington, Haringey and other parts of the UK, Ibrahim has devoted much of his time to supporting and raising the profile of the Turkish, Kurdish and Turkish Cypriot communities in the UK. To this end, Ibrahim has founded the Centre for Turkey Studies (CEFTUS) and the Centre for Kurdish Progress and has written for the Guardian and the New Statesman on Turkish and Kurdish politics.
Ibrahim runs three restaurants in Lambeth and brews his own beer, Bira. He is also the founder of the Telgraf newspaper, London Kurdish Films Festival, SME4Labour and the British Kebab Awards[1].
