Bakr Ma'roof Salim was born on 16-02-1959 in Mustafi neighborhood of Erbil. On 01-02-1972 he started acting in the play (Contemporary Marriage). In 1980, he joined the theatrical group (Peshraw) and later became a member of the workers' union. For 10 years, he directed 10 drama series with 15 episodes and 30 episodes. From 1992 to 1996, he participated in the program (Hawargay Jaran) with artists (Anwar Aziz and Hamid Sabir) on Kurdistan People's Television. In 1994, he received the Best Actor Award for the play (Crime and Punishment) in Erbil.[1]
