Ahmed Shirka Akhi

Ahmed Shirka Akhi
A chief that has seen six Iraqi presidents. An 86-year-old retired police officer has served from the times of the Iraqi Kingdom until now in the police force for 35 years in Baquba, Jaloula, Maidan Sara, and Taqtaq. He has always been loved by the people and was always helpful towards people. He has been retired for 30 years.
He was born in 1931 in the village of Malek Shah in Khanaqin. He was employed as a policeman in 1952 in Baquba province during the reign of King Faisal II with the monthly salary of seven and a half Dinar. He was transferred to Jaloula and Maidan Sara in 1974 and stayed in Taqtaq until his retirement in 1987. He is currently living in Rzgari neighborhood of Taqtaq. He is independent and a Kurdish man and the people of Taqtaq love him.
Ahmad Shirka Akhi Hassan, also known as Rais Ahmad, was the police chief of the Taqtaq police station for more than 14 years. He was employed in Baquba in 1952 during the reign of Malik Faisal when he was transferred to Taqtaq in 1974 as police with a horse. his horse was also rent some months it was for 8 dinars and some months it was 11 dinars a month. When he retired, his salary was 70 Iraqi dinars. He has been retired for 30 years now.
Rais Ahmad says he worked in the police force during the reign of King Faisal son of Ghazi, Abdul Karim Qasim, Abdul Rahman Arif, his brother Abdul Salami, Ahmad Hassan and Saddam Hussein.
He worked in the police force and had no problems with the nation. He only served the people.[1]
