Abdurrahman Önen mamoste û erdnîgarnasekî kurd bû ku di 1956an de li #Dêrika Çiyayê Mazî# hatiye dinyayê.
Önen dibistana seretayî û navendî li Dêrikê, ya amadeyî li Mêrdînê û pişt re ji sala 1976an heta 1980î, zanîngeh li Beşa Wêjeyî û Erdnîgariyê ya Zanîngeha Stembolê xwendiye. Di 1980î de li Midyadê dest bi mamostetiya erdnîgariyê kiriye, lê piştî deh mehan ji ber hin sedemên siyasî dev ji mamostetiyê berdaye.
Di sala 1985an de, cardin ew li mamostetiyê vegeriye û heta sala 2008an li Stembolê mamostetiya erdnîgariyê kiriye. Pişt re di heman salê de malnişîn bûye.
Önen di destpêka salên 1990an de yek ji dameziranêrên sendîka mamosteyan a Egit-Sen bûye û gelek nivîsên wî li kovara sendîkayê hatine weşandin. Mamosteyên ku xwestine di nav mamosteyên kurd de xwendin û nivîsandina bi kurdî geş bikin, ev armanc danîne ber xwe:

Pêkanîna arşîv û pirtûkxaneya perwerdeya bi kurdî.
Wergera pirtûkên dersan ên bi tîpên kîrîlî û erebî ya ji bo tîpên latînî.
Pêdekirina hemû pirtûkên ku li ser kurdan hatine nivîsandin.
Xebatên ji bo nivîsandina pirtûkên dersên kurdî.
Di vê çarçoveyê de, Önen jî biryar daye ku ji bo erdnîgariya Kurdistanê bixebite da ku wek mamosteyekî kurd karibe dersa erdnîgariyê bi kurdî bide. Di encama van xebatan de, di sala 2008an de pirtûka wî ya pêşîn a bi navê Ferhenga Erdnîgarîyê hatiye weşandin.
Di sala 2020an de lêkolîna wî ya bi navê Erdîngariya Kurdistanê I: Agirî û di 2021ê de jî Erdnîgariya Kurdistanê II: Wan ji aliyê Weqfa Îsmaîl Beşîkcî ve hatin weşandin.
Mamoste Abdurrahman Önen di 23ê tebaxa 2021ê de li Stembolê ji ber nexweşiya penceşêrê çû ber dilovaniya Xwedê.
