From 1919 to 1931, Khalifa Younis participated in the revolution of Sheikh Mahmoud Hafid against the British forces in the region. He became the commander of the Sharazoor Revolutionary Forces. As a heroic commander, he participated in most of the battles in (Sharazoor, Halbja, Khurmal, Karadak).
He commanded a great battle against the British occupying forces in the township of (Arbat and Kani Panka).
They defeated the huge British occupying forces that were planning to attack the leadership of the revolution in Barn in Penjwen.
In this battle, the courage of the command of Khalifa Younis and the heroic Peshmergas taught the British forces a strong lesson that they will never forget. The occupying forces returned to Sulaymaniyah after the revolution, with heavy casualties.
In this battle, many brave Peshmergas of Roghzayi and Jaf tribes sacrificed their lives for the country.
Khalifa Younis Roghzayi became a confidant of the late Sheikh Mahmoud.
He died in 1943 and was taken to Sola shrine where he was buried.
After the death of Caliph Younis, his wife, Khada Khanum, took over the affairs of the diwan and tribal problems. The people of the village respected her very much. Her words were not rejected, and when Khada Ghanim succeeded Caliph Younis, Sheikh Mahmoud Hafid visited their estate and respected hervery much.
After Khada Khanum's oldest son, Lala Sarhad, had grown up, she left the estate to Lala Sarhad, who tirelessly worked to solve the problems of the area.[1]
