Iskandar Osman Jambaz - Alexander Osman Jambaz

Iskandar Osman Jambaz - Alexander Osman Jambaz
Iskandar Osman Jambaz, the famous Kurdish artist was born in 1938 in #Erbil# and was raised in a family of merchants.
He began his primary education in 1945 at Ibn Khalakan Primary School and then went to Erbil Secondary School, which was renamed the Republican Secondary School after the #14-07-1958# revolution, in the same year he finished high school. In 1958, he was admitted to the primary teachers' and by the hands of Jawad Rasool Naji he became well educated on the art of painting. became a teacher in the village of Sisawah in Harir region. After a year, he was transferred to Erbil Exemplary School due to his abilities, which became the training center for the students of the Primary Teachers' College in Erbil.
Master Iskandar Jambaz was a decent msn who did not feel any illness until the early 1990s. However, after that it is a history, he felt seriously ill and his health deteriorated day by day. No treatment was given until he died on #18-08-1994# in his sweet city, The procession and burial had been attended by all the intellectuals around Erbil.
Although Iskandar seemingly disappeared from our sight, but his paintings and sculptures will not disappear from our sight and his personality will not be erased from the hearts of his friends, thanks to god his artistic place has not been lost among his family. Because one of his son and daughter are also artists and followed their father’s path. They have paintings and have not allowed the career of painting to stop in their family.
Iskandar Osman and his artistic life:
Iskandar Osman has been a talented painter since his primary school days and initially imitated Erbil artists such as Daniel Qasab and Jawad Rasul Naji.
However, when he reached the teachers' college, he benefited directly from the advice and guidance of the talented painting teacher Jawad Rasoul and turned to the original scenes of Kurdish life in the plains, especially nomadic life. Because his family was still buying and selling cattle so they had a strong relationship with the villagers. Therefore, this aspect dominates his paintings and he was very skilled in the art of portrait painting.
Iskender's first painting was called Zhna Bole, followed by his excellent paintings Mangadoshin and Zhna Dom and, if we want to talk about some of the paintings of this talented artist, we must say these facts in the 56 years of his artistic life he has painted more than 300 hundred beautiful paintings, and his death did not allow him to finish 16 other paintings. In 1962, he participated in the first art exhibition of the Erbil Education Directorate with several paintings. Among them, the painting Zhna Boli attracted the attention of the audience, artists and critics praised his painting and found it attractive and amazing. He participated in the Erbil Education Exhibitions in 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968 with new and interesting paintings. In 1982 and 1983 he participated in the Kurdish Cultural Festival in Media Hall in Erbil art lovers found him as a realistic artist. Many of his paintings have been exhibited in these exhibitions and have been taken to Kurdistan and Iraq as examples of Kurdish art, including three paintings in Italy, two in Sweden, several paintings in the Iraqi Cultural Affairs in Baghdad and many others In Erbil, #Sulaymaniyah#, #Kirkuk# and other Kurdish cities.[1]
