In der heutigen Ausgabe der deutschsprachigen Sendung ÇIRA FOKUS spricht Moderator Yilmaz Pêşkevin Kaba mit der Journalistin Marlene Förster über die aktuelle Situation in #Şengal#.
Heutiger Studiogast in der von Yilmaz Pêşkevin Kaba moderierten Sendung ÇIRA FOKUS ist die freie Journalistin Marlene Förster. Thema der Sendung ist unter anderem der Völkermord an den Ezid:innen - eine Bewertung und Einschätzung der aktuellen Lage für die #ezidi#sche Gemeinschaft acht Jahre nach dem IS-Überfall auf Şengal vom 3. August 2014.
Der Genozid und Femizid von 2014 wurde durch den Rückzug der irakischen Streitkräfte und der Peschmerga der PDK ermöglicht. 5.000 bis 10.000 Menschen verloren bei den Massakern ihr Leben, tausende Menschen, insbesondere Frauen und Kinder, wurden versklavt und verschleppt. Mehr als 2.000 werden immer noch vermisst. Angesichts der Gräueltaten ist es Marlene Förster jedoch auch wichtig zu betonen, dass sich die Menschen nicht einfach ergeben hätten. Trotz mangelnder Ausstattung leisteten viele Ezid:innen Widerstand, teils auch gemeinsam mit der muslimischen Bevölkerung vor Ort. Und ohne die Unterstützung der PKK-Guerilla und den Selbstverteidigungseinheiten YPG und YPJ hätte es nicht die Anzahl an Überlebenden gegeben, darin seien sich alle, unabhängig der politischen Orientierung, einig.
Marlene Förster wird in der Sendung aus eigener Erfahrung über die aktuelle Situation in Şengal berichten, auch vor dem Hintergrund der fortlaufenden Angriffe. Die Journalistin hat monatelang zum Aufbau selbstverwalteter Strukturen und zur gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung der ezidischen Glaubensgemeinschaft recherchiert.
Marlene Förster sowie ihr slowenischer Kollege Matej Kavčič hielten sich mehrere Monate in der Region auf, bevor sie im April von der irakischen Armee verhaftet und nach einem Monat Gefangenschaft beim Geheimdienst in Bagdad aus dem Irak abgeschoben wurden.
Marlene Förster ist 1993 geboren und wuchs in Darmstadt auf. Dort besuchte sie das Ludwig-Georgs-Gymnasium, an dem ihr sozial-politisches Engagement als Sprecherin des Darmstädter Stadtschülerrats begann. Nach dem Abitur studierte sie an der Technischen Universität Darmstadt. Dort war sie bereits im ersten Semester im Vorstand des Allgemeinen Studierenden Ausschusses (AStA) aktiv und verfolgte erste redaktionelle und journalistische Tätigkeiten. Von Darmstadt wechselte Marlene an die Philipps-Universität Marburg. Seit einer Reise in die Türkei und nach Nordkurdistan begann sie sich für das Thema Kurdistan und das Leben und den Aufbau demokratischer Gesellschaftsstrukturen zu interessieren. Für ihre journalistischen Tätigkeiten und ihr sozial-politisches Engagement reiste sie in den folgenden Jahren mehrfach nach Kurdistan.
