Militäroperation im Umland des Bagok-Massivs in Mêrdîn
Die türkische Armee führt erneut eine Militäroperation im Umland des Bagok-Massivs in #Mêrdîn# durch.
Aktuell konzentrieren sich die Aktivitäten der türkischen Armee auf die Errichtung von Stellungen und breiträumige Geländedurchsuchungen rund um den Bagok. Wie lokale Quellen berichten, werden die Stellungen in unmittelbarer Nähe von zivilen Siedlungsgebieten hochgezogen. An Dorfzugängen wurden gepanzerte Fahrzeuge positioniert.
Im Rahmen der Durchsuchungsaktionen dürfte es auch zur Installierung von Fotofallen kommen. Diese auch als Kamera- oder Wildfalle bezeichneten Digitalkameras schießen selbstständig Bilder und Videosequenzen, sobald der integrierte Bewegungsmelder anschlägt – auch in der Dunkelheit. Ob die türkische Luftwaffe an der Operation beteiligt ist, war zuletzt noch unklar. Die Volksverteidigungskräfte (HPG) haben sich bisher nicht zu der Militäraktion geäußert.
Rund um den Bagok finden immer wieder sogenannte „Terroroperationen“ der Türkei gegen die kurdische Guerilla statt. Das Massiv ist der höchste Gipfel der Taurus-Gebirgskette im Nordwesten Kurdistans, die die Grenze zu Syrien bildet. Bei dem Gebiet handelt es sich um das letzte geschlossene Siedlungsgebiet der christlichen Suryoye in der Türkei, die aramäische Namensgebung lautet Tur Abdin. Mehrere syrisch-orthodoxe Kirchen und Klöster, die auf dem „Berg der frommen Gottesanbeter“ liegen, befinden sich auf der #UNESCO#-Tentativliste.
Zuletzt hatte die türkische Armee Ende Juli eine Militäroperation am Bagok durchgeführt. Das für die Provinz Mêrdîn zuständige Gouverneursamt der Regierung in Ankara hatte über einige Dörfer und Weiler im Umland des Massivs eine temporärere Ausgangssperre erteilt.[1]
