Ernstige zorgen over toenemende Turkse repressie tegen de Koerdische bevolk...
De Koerdische gemeenschap in Nederland maakt zich ernstige zorgen over de eindeloze reeks aanvallen van de Turkse staat op de Koerdische burgerbevolking onder leiding van dictator Erdogan. Deze aanvallen blijven niet beperkt tot Turkije en Turks-Koerdistan, maar gebeuren ook over de grens in Iraaks- en Syrisch-Koerdistan.
In Turks-Koerdistan zijn arrestaties aan de orde van de dag. Onlangs is de onschendbaarheid van twee HDP-parlementsleden en één CHP-parlementslid opgeheven. Op 26 juni 2020 vond een grote operatie plaats tegen de DTK, het Democratisch Congres van de Koerdische Regio, een overkoepelend Koerdisch beraad. 42 leden zijn aangehouden, en het DTK-kantoor in Diyarbakir is gesloten.
In Iraaks-Koerdistan worden bombardementen uitgevoerd op burgerdoelen in Sinjar en op het vluchtelingenkamp Maxmur. Op 25 juni zijn burgerslachtoffers gevallen bij een bombardement in de provincie Suleimaniya. Dit gebeurde in Kunemasi bij een bekende picknickplaats dichtbij watervallen. In Sarbejar vonden ook bombardementen plaats op burgerdoelen.
In Rojava in Syrisch-Koerdistan zijn drie vrouwen van een Koerdische vrouwenbeweging om het leven gekomen in Kobani bij bombardementen met drones. Gerichte aanvallen van de Turkse staat op Koerdische vrouwen vinden steeds vaker plaats. Jihadistische bendes die door Erdogan worden gesteund, hebben 18 Koerdische meisjes in Afrin ontvoerd. De Turkse staat heeft op sociale media beelden verspreid van geweld tegen gevangengenomen vrouwen. Vrouwenbewegingen hebben opgeroepen dat er een einde moet komen aan de ontvoeringen, verkrachtingen en moorden.
Daarnaast wordt de linkse oppositie onder druk gezet. Iedere vorm van solidariteit met Koerden wordt hard aangepakt. Het recht tot vereniging van advocaten en artsen wordt ondermijnd door veranderde wetgeving.
Onder het mom van terreurbestrijding tegen de PKK laat de Turkse staat een spoor van vernieling na. Het geweld dat wordt gebruikt tegen de Koerdisch bevolking en tegen eenieder die zich tegen deze terreur durft uit te spreken, is onbeschrijfelijk. De lijst met gruweldaden is te lang om op te noemen. Erdogan voelt zich gesterkt door de aanwezigheid van de PKK op de terreurlijst van de EU.
Zoals bekend zijn alle wegen naar een democratische oplossing geblokkeerd en is iedere politieke oppositie en kritische journalistiek uitgeschakeld. Meer dan 7000 HDP leden zijn aangeklaagd wegens lidmaatschap van een terroristische organisatie. De Turkse staat voert een politiek van gewelddadige onderdrukking in alle sectoren van de samenleving, het fascisme is aan de macht. De nationalisten houden Erdogan in het zadel, hun steun heeft hij hard nodig nu hij aan populariteit verliest
De internationale gemeenschap moet beseffen dat iedere vorm van tolerantie en steun richting Erdogan, rampzalige gevolgen heeft voor de Koerdische bevolking. Dat de wapenhandel met Turkije direct moet stoppen, behoeft geen betoog.
Wij roepen iedereen op solidair te zijn met Koerden. Stop het toenemende fascisme, stop de aanvallen op Koerdische vrouwen, stop de schending van de soevereiniteit van buurlanden van Turkije.
