In the course of the Turkish invasion of Northern Syria, the ISIS cells in Iraq and Southern Kurdistan have also become more active. On Friday 29-11-201929-11-2019 there was an attack of the jihadists in the South Kurdistan region Germiyan. Three members of the security forces (Asayish) lost their lives and a total of eight people were injured; five Asayish members, two children and a woman.
In the evening, the ISIS militias first attacked a checkpoint with rockets and heavy weapons. This resulted in heavy fighting, which lasted until late into the night, before the jihadists finally withdrew. An operation against the ISIS cells was then started in the region.[1]
