برهم صالح

برهم صالح
ولد برهم أحمد صالح في مدينة السليمانية الواقعة في إقليم كردستان العراق سنة 1960.
وفي نهاية العام 1976 التحق بصفوف الاتحاد الوطني الكردستاني، بزعامة الرئيس العراقي الراحل جلال طالباني.
ومنذ بداية الثمانينات أصبح عضوا في تنظيمات أوروبا للاتحاد الوطني الكردستاني ومسؤولا عن العلاقات الخارجية للاتحاد في العاصمة البريطانية- لندن.
حصل صالح على البكالوريوس في الهندسة المدنية عام 1983 من جامعة كارديف في بريطانيا، وحصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإحصاء وتطبيقات الكومبيوتر في مجال الهندسة عام 1987 من جامعة ليفربول.
في العام 1992 أصبح ممثلا لأول حكومة في إقليم كردستان العراق التي تمخضت عن أول انتخابات برلمانية في الإقليم ومسؤولا للعلاقات الخارجية في العاصمة الأمريكية، واشنطن.
وتولى منصب رئيس حكومة إقليم كردستان العراق للفترة من يناير 2001 وحتى منتصف العام 2004 بتكليف من قيادة الاتحاد الوطني الكردستاني.
بعد سقوط نظام صدام حسين في 2003 أصبح نائبا لرئيس الوزراء في الحكومة العراقية المؤقتة في النصف الثاني من العام 2004 ووزيرا للتخطيط في الحكومة الانتقالية في العام 2005 ونائبا لرئيس الوزراء في الحكومة العراقية المنتخبة (حكومة نوري المالكي) وتولى الملف الاقتصادي على رأس اللجنة الاقتصادية.
في العام 2007 أسس الجامعة الأمريكية في مدينة السليمانية العراقية ويشغل منصب رئيس مجلس أمنائها.
واختاره الثلاثاء 2 أكتوبر مجلس النواب العراقي رئيسا جديدة للبلاد، بحصوله على دعم 219 نائبا من أعضاء المجلس، خلفا للرئيس فؤاد معصوم.
