The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) held its 7th Ordinary Congress
The Democratic Regions Party (DBP) held its 7th Ordinary Congress
The DBP held its 7th Ordinary Congress in Ankara. DBP co-chair Keskin Bayındır underlined the need to increase their organization in every city of Kurdistan.
Bayındır said that they had a long road ahead, and added: We will continue our struggle until we succeed. From now on, we will discuss 'how to free the leader of the Kurdish people. Our responsibility is to conclude this time with resistance, struggle, and freedom. Today is the day for organizing, resistance, and activism.
DBP co-chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar spoke about the talks carried out by the Imrali delegation.
She said: There are very important calls made by the Imralı delegation and Mr. Öcalan. No one should close their eyes or ears to these calls. The parties that were visited need to speak directly to their voters. This process must lead to the acceptance of the legitimate demands of the Kurdish people.
Emphasizing that everyone must take responsibility at a time when a solution is so needed, Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar continued: Let’s talk together about what we will build the second century on. We are in a period of bringing people together, not putting them against each other. But this cannot be done by presenting Rojava as a threat. We need a route. The first step of that route is to come together. The trustee regime has turned the state into a trustee state. Trustee appointments were made through war policies. Where will the money from our pockets be spent? Will it be spent on Rojava or the Middle East? We demand freedom and peace. We ask for words that bring people together, like the words spoken by Mr. Öcalan. We don’t want words that divide society. In the new era, we will continue to walk hand in hand, with everyone who voices the will of the people of Kurdistan and Turkey for co-existence.[1]
