Zozan Deniz, daughter of journalist #Hüseyin Deniz# , who lost his life in an armed attack in 1992, said: The pride my father gave us is enough for us. We will continue to follow the path he opened.
32 years have passed since the murder of journalist and writer Hüseyin Deniz in the Ceylanpınar (Serêkaniyê) district of Urfa (Riha) on #09-08- 1992# , worked as a teacher in the Siverek (Sêwereg) district of Urfa and the Nusaybin (Nisêbîn) district of Mardin for many years.

Deniz, who was detained during the 12 September 1980 military coup, was held in Diyarbakır Prison for 3 years. Deniz's books Gotinên Pêşiyên Kurdan, a collection of Kurdish proverbs, and Ji Nav Ajalan, a children's story book, were published in 1991.

'The same oppressions continue today'

Deniz's daughter, Zozan Deniz, who lives in Van (Wan), said that she grew up missing her father and added: The stories told at his graveside every year made us proud, and this pride is enough for us. My father wrote a dictionary of Kurdish and Zazaki idioms. The pressures of the system continue today. They thought they would end them by killing them and with unsolved murders, but they couldn't do it then, and they won't do it today either.

Reminding that Musa Anter was his father's uncle, Deniz said: He is the person who raised my father and made him a journalist. My uncle Musa was murdered only 40 days after my father was killed. We will continue to walk on the path they opened. I tell my children about my own language, culture and life. While they tried to suppress it by killing back then, now they are trying to prevent our halays, our language, our color and our clothes. However, they will not succeed.[1]
