Abdul Qaragoli
Abdul Qaragoli
In his own words:
My name is Abdul Hussein Ghafoor and I live in Sweden. I have nominated myself for the first congress of the Gorran Movement.
I was born in 1969 in Sharazoor area of Sulaymaniyah province. I studied until secondary school. The oppression and occupation of the Ba'ath regime forced me to drop out of school and become a Peshmerga in the headquarters of the 55th Brigade in Qaradagh.
I worked as a political activist after the 1991 uprising. I left my country in 1998 and now live in Gothenburg, Sweden.
- I could not live as an ordinary person abroad and forget the sorrow and suffering of my people, so I continued to serve my people abroad.
1. In 2008, when the movement for democratic change within the PUK announced itself, I and some of my friends in Sweden announced a committee to support its demands. I was given the honor of writing the first statement signed by 90 veterans.
2. With the establishment of the Gorran Movement, I have been one of the dynamos of this movement and I have worked tirelessly for it. My biggest concern has been the unity and strength of the Gorran Movement Council. I have always put the interests of the Gorran Movement ahead of my own.
3. I was elected as the Executive Committee of the Gorran Movement Council at the second conference of the Gothenburg Council. At the third conference, I made room for other comrades and thought it necessary to try to create an army of cadres who would be our comrades and fellow strugglers.
4. Similarly, in the elections held abroad in the past few days, despite the pressure and efforts of my friends to run, I did not consider it necessary to run and left the opportunity for other friends.
5. I have supervised several conferences including 1) the first part of the third conference of the Gorran Movement Council in Gothenburg 2) the first conference of Oslo and Akershus Council in Norway 3) the first conference of the Gorran Movement Council in Örebro.
6. I have played a role in organizing and conducting several conferences, seminars and demonstrations in support of the demands of the people on February 17 and the following days and all the crimes and oppression committed against my people in all four parts of Kurdistan.
7. I have supervised several campaigns, statements and letters to the Kurdish public opinion and decision-making centers in Sweden and Europe.
8. I am active and work with each of these groups (Committee for Support of Kurdistan People's Demands, Garmian Association, Matin Association, Sardasht Osman Committee for Defending Freedom).
9. I have participated in social events and have had extensive contacts with the Kurdish diaspora.
10. I have published dozens of articles and interviews in newspapers and websites.[1]
