$Biography$
Aso Omar Swara was a well-known Kurdish artist, writer, and journalist. He served his people and country in the fields of theater, cinema, drama, writing, media, and archives and he has left his mark on these fields. Aso Omar Haji Mohammed Qurbani is the full name of this cultural figure and is known as Aso Omar Swara.
He was born in 1963 in Sulaymaniyah.
He is originally from Penjwen, but his family left the town after the 1946 earthquake and settled in Sulaymaniyah.
Aso completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Sulaymaniyah, then obtained a diploma in management from #Baghdad# Technical Institute.
He was still an elementary school student, who was passionate about art and at that age became the focus of attention of his school's art teachers.
His talent became more apparent in middle school which is why Sulaymaniyah's youth art group accepted him as a member of the group proudly.
In 1979, at the age of 15, he participated in the play (Lovers of Rain) at a festival in Erbil, and as a smart and stylish person, he was recognized during the festival.
Aso Omar Swara, a multi-talented artist, appeared more after the uprising of 1991 and became a prominent star in the field of art and media and was loved by everyone.
As an experienced artist, he presented many beautiful and unique works in the fields of theater, drama, and cinema and became more popular due to these works.
He has participated in dozens of artistic works and the drama Gardelul and the film (Jani Gel) the Pain of the Nation are two examples of his high artistic works and showed Aso at the top.
Aso played a prominent role in the media and with his high artistic and cultural ability, he presented several colorful programs He had weighed it. The competition program in Kurdish Nation's TV and the Program memories of the past on Kurdsat TV, both programs were a huge success with a large audience that showed his high artistic abilities.

For many years he served in the field of administration and culture in the literary and intellectual center of Galawezh and conducted most of the festivals of the center as an experienced and proud presenter. Aso also had a colorful and heavy raw material in the field of writing. His books (Penjwen, the kingdom of yellow flowers) and (Sulaymaniyah and its land) are two great masterpieces of his, that showed the history of Penjwen and Sulaymaniyah.

(Snur) and (Raban) were the titles of two other written projects of his art, death did not give him the opportunity to see them with his own eyes.
Mr. Aso was a loyal and patriotic man. He was involved in the political movement from the beginning of his youth. He fought against the Ba'ath regime in the ranks of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, he spent many of years of his youth in the dirty prisons of the former Ba'ath regime he barely escaped death. He was proudly released in 1988 under a general amnesty.
Unfortunately, this talented artist passed away on December 30, 2019, due to a heart attack and was buried in a national and official ceremony in Saywani Hill in Sulaymaniyah.[1]
