Ali Abdullah Sofi Mohammed known as A.A. Shawnm is one of the most experienced and talented writers and poets in Kurdistan. She is one of the most talented teachers in the field of education.
He was born in 1925 in Halabja, and he is one of the most prominent Kurdish literary figures.
Shawnm was not only a poet, but also a singer, composer, painter, calligrapher, historian and fluent in Kurdish, Arabic and Persian.
The first teacher in Halabja to set up a music group was A. A. Shawnm.
He wrote one of the highest national poems that has become one of the most famous anthems of the Kurdish culture for Newroz, which he also wrote the melody for to turn into a song.
Shawnm has filled a large vacancy in children's literature that has a special style and is an exemplary work of education and guidance for children to follow the rules of life. These poems are written in the language of children.
Shawnm is one of the founders of the Baghdad branch of the Kurdish Writers Union. He was in charge of school activities in Sulaymaniyah for many years.
He was awarded the first poetry prize of the Sulaymaniyah Literary and Cultural Center.
He is the brother of lawyer, poet, historian, calligrapher and artist (Salih Sharazouri) who was killed in the tragic chemical bombing of the city of Halabja in 1988.
Shawnm has many beautiful and useful literary and linguistic works ready for publication that the Ministry of Culture should help in their publication.
He has turned many of his poems into songs by writing melodies for them. In turn, they were sung by some of the most popular singers of Kurdistan.
Shawnm recently reprinted most of his educational booklets and poems and distributed them to schools in Sulaymaniyah and its surroundings.[1]
