Ardalan Bakir
Ardalan Bakir
Biography
He was born on #25-09-1967# in #Erbil#, In Khanaqa neighborhood. He studied until the third grade of secondary school. He was very bright in primary school. He graduated as the top of his class every year. He had good energy and was a good athlete.
Ardalan grew up in a patriot family. He had an interest in art and music since he was a teenager. He tried to join the ranks of the Kurdistan Peshmerga at a very young age, but was not accepted because of his young age.
struggle
After he becomes 18 years old, Ardalan became a Peshmerga of the PUK in the 86th Brigade of Baranya.
After the infamous Anfal campaign in 1988, he began a secret struggle within the PUK organizations in Erbil. And in the Kurdish uprising in 1991 he leads a force into some streets of Erbil including Khanaqa and Shari’i hawler.[1]
He left Kurdistan in 1991 and went to Sweden. He lived in exile for 15 years. I want to remind you of one of his words that he always said to his friends: People are their feelings, for I never feel I am in exile I always feel I am in Kurdistan.
Artistic activity
Ardalan was an example of Kurdish artists. He released his first cassette in 1986 and his first album in 1993 in Sweden.
Ardalan has 5 albums...including,
Sham - şem
2007 Album - 2007 Albumî
Wafay Eşq - Wefay 'Eşq
Selection – Hellbjarde
Ardalan Bakr – In one of his songs called (Kchi Gaur) he says:
The Christian girl took my heart, I fell in love, she made me old
My world is like this. I'm wounded. He's a doctor
You're going to leave me
You hurt the old wounds
You're leaving, tell me which way you are going
No one loves you like I do
Your love of beauty took me away from the world and my imagination
You have disgraced me in my youth for the both lives
The deceased had a chronic illness, he knew, because the doctors had told him, but he had great hopes in his heart and imagination to recover, or to improve and start sports and provide a new life for himself!? But at the same time he didn't want to upset his loved ones with this bad news. He had decided not to tell anyone except his brothers and a few others.
Unfortunately, death did not allow Ardalan to do better work and he passed away on #10-10-2009# in a hospital in Sweden. Four days later, on the evening of #14-10-2009#, his body arrived back in Erbil and on #15-10-2009#, he was buried in a worthy ceremony in Sheikh Ahmad Cemetery in Erbil.
On #06-03-2014#, in the presence of Qubad Talabani, Niaz Nuri, Deputy of the Artists Union, a significant number of personalities, intellectuals and the family of the late artist Ardalan Bakr, the curtain was lifted on the statue of the artist in Minara Park in Erbil.
The sculpture is made of fiberglass and is twice and a half the size of the normal size.[1]
