He was born in 1934 in Makhmur, #Erbil# province. His name is Mahad Khidr Abdullah and his nickname is Bekhaw(Insomniac), In 1940 he came to Erbil with his family.
He completed his primary and secondary education in Erbil and was arrested several times during the late Ba'athist regime. In 1953, he wrote his first poem, Uprising of Farmers in the Erbil Plain. He was a founding member of the Kurdish Writers Union in Erbil and a member of many humanitarian and cultural organizations.
