#Müslüm Aslan# is a Kurdish poet.However, only three of his poetry books have been published. He was born in Hatxê a village that belongs to #Nusaybin# , the disctrict of Mardin province. He completed primary and high school in Nusaybin 1990s is a period that political tension broke out and escalated and He found himself in that political tension. He was arrested and imprisoned due to political reasons.He was in the jails as political prisoner, in different cities‘ prisons particularly located inDiyarbakir, Çankırı, and Maraş, for 10 years until 2001. His sense of poetry was enormously influenced and grounded by his grandfather. His aspiration of poetry appeared when his grandfather read the divan poems of Cigerxwin and got Muslum to read it. Soon after, He started to write his own poems. He wrote more and more when he was in jail. His first poems were published in [HAWAR] which had inherited from Mazlum Doğan and Ferhat Kurtay era.
After he was released of improsenment he became the editorial director of a nationwidely published jornal called “Utopya“ in which he published his poems and essays. He was also one of the charter member of Roza Culture and Art House which was founded in 2004 and under the roof of Roza they published two journals: [DEM] (Turkish) and [Nûbîn](Kurdish). However, neither Culture and Art House nor journals were no longer allowed to be active . When the Roza was shut down by government with no reason the journals had also to be terminated after first edition.
His poems, essays, and diearies were published in many journals: [Güney Dergisi], [Ütopya], [Yaratı], [Hayal Dergisi], [Tîgrîs], [Kowar W], [Tîroj], [Dilop] and even in many journals and newspapers.
His name and poems can also be seen in a worldwidely-known North Poets Anthology which is written by a famous Kurdish poet [Arjen Arî]. Moreover, His poems, especially kurdish ones, have been composed and used in albums by leading Kurdish singers such as [Hasan Tercan], [Diljen Ronî], and [Raperinas well as many others.
