On Monday, 2021 January, marked the thirty-fifth anniversary of the departure of the great immortal Kurdistan leader Idris Mustafa Barzani, the man of difficult situations, the great influence on the path of the Kurdistan movement, the architect of national reconciliation, and the Peshmerga who never compromised for the rights of his Kurdish people.
Today, when we remember the martyr Idris Barzani, we remember a fighter who fought with the gun at times and with political positions at other times, to contribute through his responsibilities and the battlefields that embraced him in shaping the shining of the contemporary history of our people, Who, thanks to the efforts of our heroic Peshmerga and the blood of our righteous martyrs, was able to seize the position that it deserves internationally, regionally and locally, and that Kurdistan became a stable oasis for democracy and civilizational advancement.
The militant leader Idris Mustafa Barzani was born in Barzan in 1944. He studied in religious schools, joined the ranks of the Kurdish revolution from its inception, and in the prime of his youth in 1961, he learned from the school of the immortal leader “Mustafa Barzani” all the meanings of sacrifice, struggle, and sincerity, and progressed in the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party until that became an active member of his leadership, where he represented the immortal Barzani in the negotiations with the Iraqi government in 1974 in addition to his important role in the diplomatic, military and organizational fields and in the September and Golan Revolutions until he passed away on 01/31/1987 in Urmia “Iran” after a heart attack, where he was buried next to the immortal Barzani in The family cemetery in Barzan town.
Commander Idris was distinguished by his distinguished role, whether in the ranks of the Peshmerga or within the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, as a courageous fighter, full of the strong belief in the justice of the cause of his people, not only in Iraqi Kurdistan but in all parts of Kurdistan. He was also distinguished by good social relations, and the close relationship with the Kurdish parties, even outside Iraq. He also played an important role in unifying the Kurdish and patriotic movement. He was known as the architect of relations and consensus in this field. Kurdistan and the world, and in this context, the Kurdish movement in Syria, and especially our party, is sipping from the source of the right approach.
Today, under the leadership of the struggling President Masoud Barzani, that approach is progressing, and developing through his leadership of the Kurdistan national project, where it is built on it first-hand, starting from the slogan: Democracy for Iraq and real autonomy for Kurdistan passing through Iraq as a federal state with a democratic system up to the great historical referendum on 25 / 9 / 2017 until today.
We are all hopeful and certain that this right approach is progressing and developing to spread Kurdistan in its four parts, and that the future is for him as long as faithful hands alternate constantly under its leadership. Perhaps our Kurdish people in Syria are constantly looking to strengthen ties with that struggle legacy through their Kurdish National Council in Syria and our party “Kurdistan Democratic Party - Syria”, which is an integral part of that approach, to constantly renew through them the pledge of loyalty and loyalty to that school of struggle constantly.
