After spending three years in prison, he was granted a general amnesty and released. After his release from prison, he was elected a member of the leadership of Komala and the leadership of the PUK. $Resignation$

Omar Sayed Ali on October 13, 2021, due to the poor results of the Goran Movement in the early elections to the Iraqi parliament and the fact that in 2021, the movement failed to win any seats in the Iraqi parliament elections and at the same time to take responsibility for the political failure of Goran, they announced their resignation along with members of the movement's general council.[1]
